Did you know that ancient rulers used to play Awale to perfect their leadership skills? Do you think you can rise to the challenge of this ancient strategic game?

Awale is a two-player strategy game originating from the Ivory Coast. It belongs to the large family of Mancala games, which are especially popular in Africa and some regions of Asia.

Awale uses the metaphor of sowing and harvesting in its gameplay strategy. Therefore, well-known expressions such as these apply perfectly here:

• If you want to reap, you must first sow.
• Those who expect to receive must first give.
